Welcome!
In 1975, in Westhoughton, near Bolton in
Lancashire - a group of lads who loved to
play local songs and folk favorites
became "The Westhoughton Weavers".
Not long after, the "West" was dropped
and "The Houghton Weavers" became a
household name, from their own long
running BBC Television series "Sit Thi
Deawn" as well as six series on BBC
Radio 2.
Dozens of recordings, thousands of
concerts and even the odd pantomime
have formed a career that will span 50
years in 2025.
David Littler, one of the original founding
members of the group, and the longest
serving, is delighted to be re-uniting
onstage with his brother Denis, also a
founder member and co-star of the TV and
radio shows for some very special
upcoming concerts and projects that,
along with other special guests and
friends, will celebrate 50 years of keeping
folk smiling.
